One backdrop on the widest clear wall behind the feeding seat, a banner with the baby's name, and the floor in front kept clear for the aasan, rangoli and thali. A two-colour pastel balloon arch with a small props table for the silver bowl and spoon is enough for a 1BHK living room. Usually, yes. Balloon designs can be set up the same day in most of our 68 cities with three to four hours' notice. Traditional flower designs need a day's notice so the marigold and jasmine are bought fresh on the morning of the ceremony. Choose a slot that ends at least an hour before the muhurat.

They are the same first rice ceremony under different regional names, and the decoration follows the custom. A Bengali mukhe bhaat setup is the most traditional, with a floral backdrop, marigold and jasmine strings and a decorated seat for the maternal uncle who feeds the baby. South Indian annaprasana and choroonu setups keep the banana leaves, kalash and rangoli space visible in front of a simpler backdrop.
