We deliver carnations the same day in every city we serve. They need two to four hours from order to door depending on the city, so a bunch ordered in the morning arrives the same afternoon and one ordered in the afternoon by evening. At checkout, choose our standard slot, the express slot for the fastest window, a fixed-time slot when the recipient will only be home for an hour, a morning slot, or the midnight slot so the flowers arrive as the date changes. How Long Do Carnations Last, and How Do I Keep Them Fresh?

Two weeks is normal and three is common, the longest of the everyday flowers we deliver. Cut each stem at an angle between the knuckles, not on one, because a carnation stem cannot draw water through a node. Strip the leaves below the water line, stand the bunch in clean water and change it every two or three days. Keep the vase cool, out of direct sun and, above all, away from the fruit bowl: carnations are the flower most sensitive to the ethylene ripening fruit gives off, and a bunch next to bananas wilts in days.
