One wall and one corner. The wall gets the backdrop with a cross, dove or God Bless motif and the baby's name, where the family photos and the cake cutting happen; the corner gets the baby's seat, cradle or bassinet dressed in white fabric and flowers. The cake table goes in front of the backdrop, and if the priest is coming for a blessing, a small table is left for the candle and the Bible.

White and gold is the classic, with a gold cross or doves and white lilies, roses or baby's breath, and it photographs cleanly against the christening gown. Pastels in blush, powder blue, mint or lemon suit a daytime lunch. For a baby boy, white with powder blue; for a girl, white with blush or lavender; all-white-and-gold suits either. Any design can be made in your colours.

It depends on the parish. Many allow a floral arrangement at the font or the altar rail and a welcome board at the door, but not balloons or anything taped to pews or pillars. Ask the parish office first and tell us what was agreed. Parish halls and clubhouses are no problem: the decorator builds the setup freestanding, with nothing fixed to the walls.

Balloon and pastel designs can usually be set up the same day in most of our 68 cities with three to four hours' notice, in two-hour slots from 9 AM to 11 PM. Customised backdrops need two to three days because the name and date are printed into the artwork, and fresh flowers need a day. For a Sunday lunch, book by Wednesday.

Yes. Every design carries the name and the date of the baptism in foil or gold letters, and the customised and God Bless backdrops can take a short verse or a godparents' line in the artwork. Mention the exact spelling and the verse in the order notes and the decorator confirms them on the call before the day.
